Some Songs I Wish I Wrote

A random list I thought of writing about some weeks back. It just so happened that these songs played in succession one fine day, and the awesomeness of the words and the music made me stop, think and listen. It’s no secret that I have crazy dreams of being a record producer, but what a pity for being completely talentless in this aspect. Hence, I am left to dream out loud.

Here are some of the many songs I wish I wrote.

“Secrets” by OneRepublic
Favorite part: “I’m sick of all the insincere, so I’m gonna give all my secrets away”
I like it because: It has a lot of meanings. At some point, one might think it’s about the band’s beginnings and success. Also, I am a big fan of Ryan Tedder.

“Shattered” by OAR (Of A Revolution)
Favorite part
: “How many times can I break till I shatter? Over the line can’t define what I’m after”
I like it because: It’s about getting out of cycles, and I believe this song is not only applicable to matters of the heart, but even for career-related frustrations like resigning from your current post or not knowing which path you really want to pursue. But that’s just me.
