I’ve been toIlocos Sur countless times but it occurred to me that I don’t have decent pictures of the province at all. Consider this a delayed entry. XD

I always look forward to this in every trip:

Ilocos Sur's okoy

Ilocos Sur's okoy is crispy to the core

And this:

Ilocos Sur's empanada

Ilocos Sur's empanada. The first time I tried this, I asked my uncle what ingredients are inside. He said "salami." I was like, "Wow, salami." I totally fell for that.

And now, this:

Barbecue at Vigan Plaza

Barbecue at Vigan Plaza is a must-try. The most tender I've encountered ever!

It’s amazing how they were able to preserve these infrastructure while keeping up with the modern times. Restaurants such as Max’s and even Mang Inasal have fa├žades that blend well with the rest of the houses down the street. Scooters and motorcycles are very popular in Vigan, so it’s not surprising that motorhome repair shops are also plenty. Kalesas were everywhere.

It was also my first time to go up the San Agustin Bell Tower in Bantay.

Each bell has a distinct sound. Our guide told us that the tower used to be a big help to the residents during the war as you can see the ships from the distance.

Our guide also told us that they regularly clean the bells every month but somehow, the bells end up like this:

Not just the bells, too:

We also got to try this resto named La Preciosa. Value for money it is!
